Taiwan 2024 - New Taipei Garden, Black-and-White Butterfly

Capturing butterflies can be a tricky business.  Some species are skittish and flit about so spasmodically that it's impossible to catch one still enough for long enough to snap a decent photo.  The one featured above is different, however, in that it remains in one place, and allows a human to get close enough, to get a good shot.

Found the line of orange shapes on the dorsal sides of its wings to be interesting, and wonder what the advantage is in nature...
