It was amazing to be standing in the midst of statues, carvings and writings that were chiseled into stone by hands that worked it so many years ago. Saint Paul spent time in Athens, and it's probable that his eyes fell upon many of these same works during his stay. The descriptions were in English as well as Greek, so there was a lot to learn about each one.I've always been a "museum person", taking time to absorb the information, gleaning appreciation especially in works that contain a lot of detail. This museum (I forget what it was called) was a bonanza; it was fortuitous that I ended up there alone.
