Canadian Rockies - Lake Louise, Meditating Man

Is it wrong to sneak in a pic of what is obviously a very private moment if it's in a public setting?  Where is the line that crosses from private worship to capsules of culture?  I got a fuss when snapping this image more than 13 years ago, and as a result sought permission before taking this picture some nine years later.  They seemed OK with it...
