Many times I tried to image what these same scenes would look like in the dead of winter, when trees such as this would be completely hidden by a thick blanket of snow. I'm no skier, but undoubtedly would have to wear either skis or snow shoes in order to make the same hike in January or February, or even March.We overheard someone saying that the attrition rate of school teachers here was 50% year-on-year. They decide to move to the area when it's warm and pretty, but bail after the first winter, disillusioned at the harsh temperatures and hard work required just to cope with the cold.
