Taiwan - Taipei Zoo, Cattle Egret
This is a subspecies of the cattle egret. As common as they are, this is an interesting bird. Learned that "the Maasai people
consider the presence of large numbers of cattle egrets as an indicator
of impending drought and use it to decide on moving their cattle herds." [credit: Wikipedia] And suppose that their long history with humans has ingrained a tolerance for our presence, as can be seen in this and tomorrow's post.
