Taiwan 2024 - Temple Dedication, Closing Ceremony #5

...and see below for the source of that nastiness.  As stated in the posted link, these betel nut trees took over the mountainside, supplanting the native flora that had been there since time immemorial.  Fortunately, there is a movement afoot to reduce dependence on this cash crop, replacing it with plants that really belong there.  Hope we see this begin to take place in the not-too-distant future.
