Bookmark - Sutton Bank (Landscapes)

It had been raining some that day, but the weather cleared enough to capture a decent landscape.  The road below wound steeply up to where we were, and was made famous in the Herriot writings when the vet had to ascend backwards in his car because the first forward gear wouldn't do the trick.

It was worth it, however, because he often wrote of this very vista upon reaching the top.  In fact, between farm calls he would deliberately stop here - if it was on his way - so that he and his dog could just sit and rest, soaking in the beauty of the landscape.
